Magnum Food Brokers is a leading food service broker with over 40 years of service in the Ontario food service industry. Magnum was founded on the principles of providing a professional, ethical, full service brokerage for manufacturers looking for representation in the Ontario marketplace.
We currently have strong, focused and powerful Principal partnerships. We have been able to partner with companies whose product lines compliment each other. This allows our sales team to sell to all food service customers and have products to offer in all categories i.e. appetizers, protein, desserts, sides, beverages, etc. We have found that this smaller more focused approach helps our sales team be experts in all our product lines giving our Principals the best results.
We also offer our Principals additional value added services that set us apart. We have a custom sampling system that ensures we are keeping costs low but sampling customers effectively to be able to close deals. We have an in-house marketing department that can produce promotional material in a timely manner to help drive sales. Lastly, we have developed an excellent contract and rebate management system that allows us to alleviate this responsibility from our Principals.
In addition to our commitment to our principals, we are dedicated to servicing our customers at the highest level. We operate with the belief that value added products, customer support and hard work, are essential to profitability, growth and loyalty. We have built an excellent foundation with Healthcare/GPO’s, Ind. Restaurants, Caterers, Gaming, QSR and Multi-Unit customers. While our focus remains with those customers, we are also the voice of our Principals for many National accounts as well.
Our team is experienced in all levels of foodservice. We have the largest sales team and internal support staff to assist them.
Our Culinary Centre opened in July 2014. As we strive to meet the needs of today’s customers, our Culinary Centre provides a place that is centrally located, free from distractions and well equipped to engage in full product training and development.
From impressive new menu innovations to targeted product presentations, our Culinary Centre is an effective tool.
In early 2012 we installed our first 32’ walk-in freezer/ refrigerator. We quickly filled this freezer and installed a second 28’ walk-in freezer.
We believe that if we can get our customers to try our products, we will get them to buy our products! With that in mind we have over the years developed a sampling program that involves us re- packing/ vacuum packing samples for our reps whenever possible.
This helps us to control the amount of product being sampled and present it in a professional manner.
In 2009, Magnum decided to make the investment in creating our own marketing department to support our Sales Team and their need for timely, custom marketing material.
For some Principals with limited budgets, they may not have any marketing material and for larger Principals they take longer periods of time to print custom marketing material for our marketplace.
With our own department, we have been able to create beautiful, professional, timely marketing material for all of our principals.
